A new lens for helping professionals
Almost 50% of patients taking medications for heart conditions do not follow their prescription regimes. This lack in regime is significantly increasing the risk of hospitalisation, premature death, reduced quality of life and higher health care costs. A growing body of research in the field of Positive Health shows that rather than relying on traditional education and promotion approaches, behavioural change which associates medication adherance and healthier lifestyle choices to health benefits, is a more effective way to achieve positive self-care outcomes.
HoW are taking the emerging positive health and wellbeing science research and are developing a targeted and interactive e-Health online intervention.
The psychological health component works to influence thoughts, beliefs and emotions, cultivating skills such as optimism and hope, strongly linked to heart health, and positively influencing behaviour through a better sense of control. This is because our thoughts, physiology, emotions and our behaviours are all interconnected - a change in one impacts all of the others.
The physical health component allows people to set, pursue and track goals, taking actions towards improving diet, such as eating less sugar, increasing regular activity and getting more rest. Our program can be tailored to include medical or support reminders - such as medication - through mobile push notification alerts or email.
Therapists, Coaches, Trainers, Practitioners, Consultants, Medical professionals can integrate with existing health management systems - such as tools to relieve depression. We offer complementary tools which builds wellbeing and helps reduce ill-being.
Our e-Health program will take the traditional challenge of the medical care team providing support to a large number of patients, by offering a technological solution - providing continiuity of care and better connection with clients and patients. Our progam can enable professionals to look at the activities which support patients or clients goals, related to smoking, or nutrition for example, and whether medications are being taken on time, with the ability to intervene for real-time feedback to address and fix problems.
We see a future in which the health care profession is empowered to prescribe our digital wellbeing program either in addition to or instead of medications. Why? Because it works and because individuals are looking for it.
